A standalone ECU is worth very little without knowing whether it is locked to a previous tune or a previous vehicle, whether the base map is included, and what licence or software the tuner will need to open it. Ask before you buy, not after. On a used loom, ask for photos of the connector faces and any repairs, since a loom that has been cut and joined is a long evening with a multimeter for whoever fits it next.
